Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia – Membership

T&Cs
The BarBQ Plaza programme is a loyalty programme by Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia (“Programme”). A registered member who has a BarBQ Plaza account (“Member”) can enjoy special promotions and privileges and earn 1 Point for every RM10 spent (including Service Charge and Service Tax, and after Points and Complimentary Vouchers redemption), which can be turned into cash rebates (10 points = RM10).

This Programme is available through the BarBQ Plaza app which is available for iOS and Android.

No physical card will be given to registered Member; Would-be Members will be required to download the BarBQ Plaza app from the App Store or Google Play Store, and then register for a BarBQ Plaza account to become a Member with free membership fee. To enjoy the Programme, Member needs to flash Member ID QR Code on the BarBQ Plaza app and get it scanned every time they spend at Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia outlets. The app will be used to earn and redeem Points and enjoy member’s privileges, as well as to communicate with our Members about the latest promotions.

MEMBERSHIP

To be a Member, download the BarBQ Plaza app from the App Store or Google Play Store and register via the app. To register, would-be Members must be 12 years of age or older and are required to provide a full name as per NRIC, active mobile number, birthday date, email address, gender, and area, and other contact information as may be required by Bar B Q Plaza from time to time. Each mobile number and email address can be registered for one BarBQ Plaza account only. The birthday date cannot be changed once submitted.

Upon signing up with the active mobile number, Members should receive an SMS with a 6-digit verification code (OTP code), and submit the online registration form via BarBQ Plaza app.

Membership is valid for 12 months and renewal with renewal fee is required after 12 months.

This membership is only applicable in Bar B Q Plaza and can only be used in Malaysia.

Membership is not transferable.

Members should always update their registered contact details in their BarBQ Plaza account to ensure that they do not lose their collected Points and Rewards as well as to enjoy the full benefits of the Programme. To update personal details, Member can log in to their BarBQ Plaza account by using their registered mobile number and password on the BarBQ Plaza app or contact our Customer Service team via email at member@barbqplaza.com.my.

To register as a Member, earn and redeem points, earn and redeem rewards, Member must be aged 12, proof of age may be required before we accept the registration of membership and all information provided by Members to us are based on the reasonable assumption that all statements given are true and not misleading.

REWARDS, BENEFITS, EARNINGS AND REDEMPTIONS

For every RM10 spent (with Service Charge, Service Tax and after Points and Complimentary Vouchers redemption), Members will be awarded with 1 Point. The Points will be converted to cash rebate (10 points = RM10) which can be used in your next bill. Points will only be awarded for maximum 3 transactions per day.

Members can choose to fully or partially redeem their available Point balance. Members may also keep accumulating points through several purchases and redeem points at a later time.

Members will receive triple Points during birthday month – 7 days before and after actual birthday, earn double point for Member Set and other rewards (such as special discount and exclusive members’ event). Triple Points will be credited to your BarBQ Plaza member account within 24 hours. Double points for member sets and birthday privileges cannot be used in conjunction with triple points. To earn or redeem Points, Member must present their Member ID QR code on the BarBQ Plaza app before payment. To redeem points/rewards, Members must inform our crew that they would like to redeem his/her points/reward and present Member ID QR code on the BarBQ Plaza app before payment.

In the event that a Member is unable to present the Member ID QR code on the BarBQ Plaza App, the Member will not be entitled to earn and redeem Points/Rewards. A screenshot of the Member ID QR code is invalid for this purpose.

Members may earn and redeem points for purchases in our restaurants (Food & Beverages).

Points will not be awarded for purchases from our Delivery Partners (ie: Foodpanda, GrabFood, Baijia, Shopeefood, etc).

Points earned are based on the total amount settled in each purchase. Accumulation of receipts for points issuance is not allowed.

Points rewarded from purchases at Bar B Q Plaza restaurants will expire 12 months from the validity of membership while each Reward expired according to the validity period stated on T&C. Points can only be redeemed with a valid membership. Expired membership is required to renew the membership in order to earn Points and redeem the Points in Member’s BarBQ Plaza account. Birthday Rewards (triple Points during birthday month  – 7 days before and after actual birthday) expires at the end of the day-7 from your birthday date.

To redeem Points or Rewards, Members must present the Membership QR code or the Reward QR code on the BarBQ Plaza app when ordering and verbally inform our staff of their intentions before payment. The redemption will not be valid if the Member ID QR code is presented during or after payment.

Members may redeem Points or Rewards only for dine-in transactions.

Members can check their Points balance on the BarBQ Plaza App or the counter at our outlets. Members are responsible for internet service charges, and we will not be liable for any failure of internet services. We reserve the right to correct or amend the balance in a Member’s BarBQ Plaza account if we believe that an invoicing or accounting error has occurred. If a Member wishes to contest such corrections or amendments to his/her account, believes that the accumulation of Points and/or Rewards is inaccurate, the Member may contact our Customer Service at member@barbqplaza.com.my.

The Points earned cannot be exchanged for cash. Redemption of Points or Rewards in a single transaction can only be made by using the Points from the same BarBQ Plaza account. Members cannot transfer Points or Rewards to any other person unless otherwise allowed by Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia based on its sole discretion.

It is not possible to merge the Points and/or Rewards balances from more than one BarBQ Plaza account onto a single account.

Any Points or Rewards expired, redeemed and deducted from a Member’s BarBQ Plaza account is not refundable.

Members may redeem up from 10 points to 1000 points in a single transaction from a single account.

LIMITATIONS OF USE OF MEMBERSHIP

The BarBQ Plaza account (and, by extension, the membership) may not be transferred, exchanged or used for any other purpose, except as specified in these Terms.

Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia shall not be liable for any damage in the event that the BarBQ Plaza account could not be used due to whatsoever reason, including but not limited to failure of BarBQ Plaza’s IT and communications systems, as Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia may not be able to allow Members to redeem Points and Rewards during such an event.

Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia reserves the right to refuse any application for a BarBQ Plaza account or to impose limitations on the usage of the account (and, by extension, the BarBQ Plaza benefits), in the event Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia believes that the elements of fraud, misconduct or unauthorised use involved in the transaction. Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia may at any time suspend or cancel the BarBQ Plaza account (and, by extension, the Membership) of the Member if Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia believes that the BarBQ Plaza account has been used for or is intended to be used for fraud, misconduct or other unauthorized uses. In the case of such an event, the Membership will be invalid once suspended or cancelled by Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia and all the Points and Rewards in the BarBQ Plaza account will be forfeited.

BAR B Q PLAZA MALAYSIA MAXIMUM LIABILITY AND EXCLUSION OF WARRANTIES

Save for in the event of death or personal injury, Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia will only be liable for damages arising from negligence or fraud on the part of Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia and as permitted by law not amounting more than the final balance rewards recorded in the Member’s BarBQ Plaza account. Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia shall not be liable for any unforeseeable damages or damages beyond the reasonable control of Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia.

Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia will endeavour to provide the services relating to Member’s membership using reasonable skill and care.

Notwithstanding the above, nothing in these Terms shall affect the statutory rights of the Member.

AMENDMENT OF THESE TERMS AND TERMINATION

Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time or terminate this Programme by giving reasonable notice to Members. Any amendment on these terms will be posted on https://barbq-plaza.com/terms-and-conditions/

If a Member has successfully verified the registration, Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia will notify all the Members of any change, deletion or addition on the Terms by e-mail or notify on the BarBQ Plaza app. The amended Terms will take effect immediately upon being posted on our website or being emailed or notified to Members via the BarBQ Plaza app. In the event Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia decides to terminate this Programme, Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia will give a 30 days’ notice to Members.

MEMBER PRIVACY

Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia’s Privacy Policy can be found at https://barbq-plaza.com/privacy-policy/ . Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia will use all the information provided by Members according to the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy may be changed from time to time by Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia and the amended Privacy Policy will be posted on our website. Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia will not disclose Member’s information to any third party without the consent of the Member.

CANCELLATION OF MEMBERSHIP

In the event a Member wants to cancel their Membership, the Member must contact our Customer Service team via email at member@barbqplaza.com.my. All the remaining rewards in the Membership account will be forfeited upon termination of the Membership (and, by extension, the BarBQ Plaza account).

GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

These terms are governed by Malaysia law.

WHOLE AGREEMENT

These Terms (together with the documents referred to) constitute the whole agreement between Bar B Q Plaza Malaysia and the Member, and supersedes any other agreement, letters, correspondence (oral or written or expressed or implied) entered into prior to these Terms in respect to matters dealt with in this Terms.

SEVERABILITY

Any Term, condition, stipulation, provision, covenant or undertaking in this instrument which is illegal, void, prohibited or unenforceable shall be ineffective to the extent of such illegality, ineffectual, prohibition or unenforceability without invalidating the remaining provisions hereof, and such illegality, ineffectual, prohibition or unenforceability shall not invalidate or render illegal, void or unenforceable any other Term, condition, stipulation, provision, covenant or undertaking herein contained.

FORCE MAJEURE

We shall not be liable for any delay or failure in our performance caused by or resulting from acts of God, fire, flood, accident, riot, war, government intervention, embargoes, strikes, labour difficulties, equipment failures, or any other causes beyond our control.

ACCOUNT, REGISTRATION AND MEMBERSHIP

Q: What can I do with the BarBQ Plaza app?

A: This app replaces the previous membership system (aliments) starting in 2023 and comes with greater benefits.

Upon successful BarBQ Plaza account activation, you can start collecting Points every time you spend at Bar B Q Plaza restaurants in Malaysia. You will also enjoy Birthday Rewards and Member Specials. On top of that, you will get to know about our latest promotions through this app. For more information, see section 2. REWARDS, BENEFITS, EARNINGS AND REDEMPTIONS.

Q: Who can register for a BarBQ Plaza account?

A: To get a BarBQ Plaza account, you must;

  • Have a valid NRIC/Passport.
  • Be 12 years of age or older.
  • Have a valid email address.
  • Have a valid mobile number.
  • Have a smartphone.

Q: Must I have the BarBQ Plaza app on my mobile phone to be a Bar B Q Plaza Member?

A: Yes, you must download the BarBQ Plaza app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and register for a BarBQ Plaza account via the app to be a Bar B Q Plaza Member.

The app will be used to collect and redeem Points and Rewards, as well as to communicate with Bar B Q Plaza Members about our latest promotions.

Q: Will I still receive a membership card after registering on the app?

A: No, there will not be any membership card issued after registering on the app.

Q: What if I don’t have a smartphone?

A: Unfortunately, our membership is now on the app. Therefore, you must have a smartphone which is able to download and install the BarBQ Plaza app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Q: Do I have to pay to apply for the new membership?

A: No, our new membership is free of charge.

Q: How do I activate my BarBQ Plaza account after registration?

A: Upon signing up with the active mobile number, Members should receive an SMS with a 6-digit verification code (OTP code), and submit the online registration form via BarBQ Plaza app.

Q: Will I be able to enjoy all Bar B Q Plaza Member benefits instantly upon registration?

A: Yes, you will enjoy all Bar B Q Plaza Member benefits, including accumulating Points, immediately after activating your account.

Q: Will my BarBQ Plaza account expire?

A: Yes, this membership account is valid for 12 months.

Q: Is my BarBQ Plaza account transferable?

A: No, your membership account is non-transferable.

Q: Am I able to hold more than one BarBQ Plaza account?

A: You are not allowed to have multiple BarBQ Plaza accounts as each membership account is uniquely tagged to your registered details. In the event that a member was found to have more than 1 BarBQ Plaza account, all accounts related to the member will be suspended immediately.

Q: What benefits can I get as a Bar B Q Plaza Member?

Q: Is all my spending at Bar B Q Plaza entitled to earn Points?

A: Purchases of normal priced items in our restaurants (Food & Beverages) are entitled to Point earnings excluding specific promotion period. Points will NOT be awarded with expired membership.  Renew membership is required to enjoy the member benefits. Additionally, Points will NOT be awarded for purchases from our Delivery Partners (ie: Baijia, Foodpanda, GrabFood, Shopeefood, etc).

Q: Are Points granted according to the total amount paid in each purchase or the aggregate amount of several purchases?

A: Points earned are based on the total amount settled in each purchase. The amount spent in separate purchases cannot be combined for the purpose of claiming more Points.

For example, if you spend RM59.50 for a certain purchase (5 Points earned), and after the transaction is settled, you spend RM130.50 for another purchase (13 Points earned), the Points collection value will be round down and no truncate.

Q: Will my Points and Rewards expire?

A: Yes, Points rewarded from purchases at Bar B Q Plaza restaurants will expire 12 months from the validity of membership while each Reward expires according to the validity period stated on T&C. Birthday Rewards (triple Points during birthday month  – 7 days before and after actual birthday) expires at the end of the day-7 from your birthday date. Any Points or Rewards expired, redeemed and deducted from a Member’s BarBQ Plaza account is not refundable.

Q: How do I redeem my Points?

A: Points can only be redeemed with a valid membership and can be redeemed for purchases of menu items. The earliest expiring Points will be redeemed first. Expired membership is required to renew the membership in order to redeem the Points in Member’s BarBQ Plaza account.

Q: Is there any minimum spending required to redeem each Rewards?

A: The redemption requirement for each Reward differs. You may check the Terms & Conditions for each individual Reward for the full details.

Q: Am I able to use multiple rewards in the same transaction?

A: No, you may only redeem one deal per transaction.

Q: Is it possible to merge the Points accumulated in two BarBQ Plaza accounts owned separately by me and my friend for redemption in the same transaction?

A: BarBQ Plaza accounts are designated for individual use by the members of the respective accounts only. No merging or transfer of Points from different BarBQ Plaza accounts is allowed in one transaction.

Q: How can I check my Points and Rewards?

A: You can do this using the BarBQ Plaza app by clicking on your ‘Point Balance’ and ‘Vouchers’ in the mobile app – “Me” page. You can check your Points and Rewards anywhere, anytime. The ‘Point Balance’ will only show the total available Point you have in your account while the receipt from your purchase will show the Points gained, Points used and Remaining Points.

Q: I have no internet connection. Can I still earn or redeem Points?

A: An internet connection is required to redeem your Points and to ensure that you are viewing the most recent information in the app. However, you can still earn Points as mentioned in the answers below.

Q: What if my mobile phone is out of battery and is unable to display the app? Can I provide my mobile number instead to earn or redeem Points?

A: Unfortunately, to earn and redeem your Points and Rewards, you are required to show your Member ID QR code.

Q: What do I do when I don’t receive my Points?

A: This could be due to an unstable internet connection. Make sure your internet connection on your mobile phone is stable. Also, please keep your receipt. If you do not receive your Points after 24 hours, please get in touch with us via email at member@barbqplaza.com.my

Q: What happens if the outlet’s system is down/offline? Can I still earn or redeem Points and Rewards?

A: When the outlet’s system is down/offline, you are still able to earn Points. Unfortunately, you cannot redeem any Points and Rewards when the outlet’s system is down/offline.

OTHERS

Q: Can I make changes to the personal information of my BarBQ Plaza account?

A: You are advised to contact our Customer Service via email at member@barbqplaza.com.my to make changes in your BarBQ Plaza profile. To reset your password, you may do it through the My Profile section in the app by re-submitting your password.

Q: How are my personal details managed?

A: The protection and use of your data are compliant with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2010. Please refer to the terms and conditions and privacy policy at https://barbq-plaza.com/privacy-policy/
